System K10
Alvenius system K10 is a shouldered system based on the metric standard. This system is designed for pressures up to 25 bar (360 psi). The key component of the system is the coupling. The K10 system can be assembled using two different types of couplings. The most common one has the designation K10. Coupling K10 has been successfully installed all over the world for 50 years. The other coupling has the designation K70 and has a swing bolt and a special nut. Coupling K70 is widely used where assembly time or flexibility is decisive.
Product Facts
• Self-sealing gasket makes the coupling suitable for low pressure as well as for higher pressure and under certain conditions also for vacuum pressure.
• The standard gasket is made from EPDM rubber and is suitable for all substances including many chemical compounds. Working temperatures range from –35 to + 110ºC. A nitrile or silicon gasket is recommended if there is long-term contact with petroleum products.
• The coupling takes hold of the pipe ends so that the connected pipe can withstand considerable axial tensile forces.
• Easy and fast connection, up to 5 times faster than welding.
• The assembly can be done with unskilled manpower.
• The pipes can cope with a non-alignment of 1-2,5º.
• The couplings can withstand vibrations without a risk of leakage occurring.
• Pipe stresses are avoided thanks to the axial play in the joints.
System Victaulic
Alvenius system Victaulic is a grooved system based on the ISO standard. This system is designed for pressures up to 70 bar (1000 psi) depending on the diameter of the pipe. There is a big assortment of couplings available, flexible or rigid. The most common ones are the flexible ST75 and ST77, depending on maximum working pressure. There is also a big assortment of gasket materials to choose from, depending on the type of media that is going to be transported in the pipes. Most common is EPDM rubber.

Hot Dip Galvanizing
Alvenius hot dip galvanized pipe systems are supplied for over half a century all over the world.
Alvenius have their own galvanizing plant. With many years of experience Alvenius has achieved a great knowledge within hot dip galvanizing. Alvenius products are hot dip galvanized according to European Standard EN ISO 1461 grade B.
Alvenius pipe systems can also be delivered untreated.
Thermoplastic Coating
The newest product from Alvenius is the in- and/or outside thermoplastic coated pipe system, called TP-pipe system. This system has within several applications outperformed stainless steel, when it comes to corrosion protection and service life.
What Does Thermoplastic Coating Mean?
Thermoplastic coating is a method of melting a plastic powder on to a metal, by the use of heat ("thermo-"), with the purpose of providing a long lasting corrosion protection with no negative effects on the environment. All pipes and pipe fittings undergo holiday testing to ensure the isolation of the coating.
What Kind Of Plastic Is It?
The plastic that we use has been especially designed to provide a long lasting, tough coating for mild steel piping. It is based on an alloy of acid modified polyolefins. Therefore it is halogen free and the combustion fumes are low in smoke and have a low toxicity index.
What Are The Characteristic Qualities Of This Product?
When a specialist applies the coating, this method offers the following benefits:
• Excellent adhesion to the steel, without need for a primer, - no risk for scaling or cracking
• Superior resistance to adverse weather conditions and to UV radiation
• Good chemical resistance, both in acid and alkaline environments
• Approved for potable water and food stuffs
• Excellent flexibility, also at low temperatures, elongation at break is 800%
• High impact strength
• Compared to many other coatings it has high abrasion resistance
• Minimal or no underfilm corrosion, in the event of mechanical damages
• High dielectric strength
• Safe working temperature continous in air + 150ºF / 65ºC
• The coating does not affect the environment, neither during production, use or disposal
• Easy repair in the event of damages, even after many years of use
• The thermoplastic powder is applied in 1 (one) coating between 500-700 m, and can be made in different colours
Where Do I Find Installations Of TP-Pipe Systems Today?
Alvenius TP-pipe system will be found in various types of industry where corrosion is a problem. Presumably stainless steel has primarily been the traditional material for the pipes. For example:
Mining and Mineral Processing Leaching Chemical Industry Municipal Water Industry Paper and Cellulose Industries Food Stuffs Industry Off-Shore Desalination Plant Fire Mains Foundation Tubes
